Description: A slightly smaller form than the species, it grows to a maximum of 3 feet, comparable to 'Hameln' with slightly coarser foliage. Dusky light brown flowers beginning in August. It has superb fall color, turning a golden color with red-orange tints. The red tints are sometimes visible throughout the summer. Introduced by Kurt Bluemel. Named for German horticulturist Cassian Schmidt.
