My wife purchased my first hosta back in 1990. It was a Hosta 'Brim Cup'. I asked, "What is this?  Are there any more kinds?"  Silly question. My gardens now contain 160+ different hosta cultivars and 60+ ornamental grasses.

In 1998 we built our first greenhouse in our residential backyard.  It was sold along with our old residence when we moved to our new location in August 2002.  Take a look at it to see our very first beginnings.  The years prior to 1998 were a bit difficult with no greenhouse to overwinter stock.

2006 we added Hanging Baskets created by my wife using Proven Winner annuals. 2008 begins our 17th season!

And now a little bit about myself . . .

In a nut shell, born in 1959, blessed childhood, graduated at Aurora University and Moody Bible Institute, married in 1988 to my wonderful wife Carla, and blessed with 4 children (Anne, Marshall, Shannon & Gabrielle), and our dogs Jet, Snowball, and Shadow, our cat Captain Jack, our nursery cats for vole patroling Bart and Sunshine, and our goats Panda, Lisa, and Pebbles.  I currently work at Mooby Bible Institute in Chicago serving as the Business Systems Analyst for Moody Publishers.
